If you’re a Maltese Shih Tzu pet-lover who loves coffee, you’ll know how tricky it can be to find a place where you can fill your caffeine needs with your fur baby by your side. We know we’ve personally had to Google for pet friendly coffee shops nearby while we’re out with our own dogs. Luckily, Sydney is home to a number of great brew houses that allow you to bring your pup along while grabbing a cup of Joe.
This Surry Hills coffee shop has an excellent reputation for its coffee and food, and an equally sterling reputation among our four-legged friends. Dogs are welcome to sit at the communal table in front or at the other outdoor tables. There’s always something new on the menu, which changes regularly and features fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers. You may even catch them using fresh eggs from their own chooks.
Hidden in the backstreets of Darlo, this dog-friendly coffee shop offers great all-day breakfast options, as well as coffee and other bites to eat. Located just around the corner from Hyde Park, you can even bring your dog for a post-dinner stroll. There’s plenty of outdoor seating where your fluffy companion can sit back and relax while you enjoy your latte.
Located in the heart of Newtown, Wolfpack Coffee Roasters is a dog-friendly coffee shop that serves some of the best brews in town. It is a specialty coffee roaster with an awesome pet-friendly outdoor area.
On weekends, you’ll find many people lining up outside to get their cup of joe, however, if you’re not in a mood for long queues, we recommend you visit this place on weekdays or even better, head there early on weekends.
The food menu here is pretty limited so do not expect lots of options to choose from. But what they serve, they do really well – like the famous smashed avo on toast and a range of organic biscuits for your furry friend.
Petty Cash Cafe is a great place for those who want to go out with their pets but don’t want to leave them home alone. The cafe has plenty of seating for customers and their furry friends, so no need to worry about your pet being cramped up in one corner of the room. They do ask that you bring leashes and keep your pooch under control at all times, but we think that’s something any responsible dog owner can do.
What we really like about Petty Cash Cafe is that nearly all the food they serve is homemade. To add to that, there’s a tasty selection of vegan options that will please even the staunchest meat-eaters out there.
These coffee shops make it possible for you to keep your pooch nearby while you get some of the best coffee being brewed in Sydney. If you know of any others that deserve a mention, let us know in the comments below and we’ll be sure to check them out!
